From Windows 3.1 to Windows 8.1, pressing Alt+Space while in a program would bring up the system menu with options like Restore, Move, Size, Maximize, and Minimize. However, this keyboard shortcut no longer works in Windows 10 Build 1803, even though it has become a deeply ingrained habit for someone who has been using Windows for over 25 years.

Although the system menu can still be accessed by clicking on the top left corner, a keyboard shortcut is needed when the title bar is not visible. The user is wondering if there is a way to enable this behavior for all programs and windows.

In an update, the user realized that they use Alt+Space outside of Chrome and miss the keyboard shortcut. Another update reveals that the Alt key on the right-hand side of the Space bar no longer works for this function in Windows 10, even though it had been used for over 25 years.

It is speculated that this issue may only affect Dell computers or certain versions of Windows 10.
